Field Training Evaluation Program (FTEP)

The Pendleton Police Department uses the Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP), which is intended to provide quality and professional training to new or entry level probationary Police Officers.   FTEP allows the Pendleton Police Department to use its resources and personnel in an effective manner through the utilization of on the job training principles.

The Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) structure is intended to provide optimum utilization of training resources and personnel in the dynamic environment of Law Enforcement to provide:

• Training based on individual need.
• A solid foundation for a progressive career with the Pendleton Police Department.
• Evaluation of each participant based on established guidelines to ensure consistent training with integrity and reliability.
• An accurate and complete record of each participant's progress based on observed performance and testing.

Pendleton Police Department Field Training Officers

The Pendleton Police Department has 15 members including the Administrators, Supervisors and Police Officers who have been through the 40-hour FTEP certification course. The current FTO Program is comprised of eight active FTO’s.
