City Council 2023

Mayor and City Council are responsible for the formulation of City policy, enactment of the legislation, control of revenues and expenditures through the annual operating budget, and appointment of members to citizen advisory boards and commissions. The Council is composed of eight members who are elected to four-year terms. The Mayor is also elected to a four-year term. The Mayor and City Council meet in regular sessions on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM.

To present information or request action by the City Council, citizens must submit their request/information to the Administration office at City Hall not later than noon of the Wednesday preceding the Council meeting in order to meet the agenda publication deadline.  Please call 541-966-0201 for questions or further information.

The Mayor and City Council set goals every biennium. Their current goals for 2022 - 2023 are:

  • Goal 1: Increase Availability of Housing for all levels of income
  • Goal 2: Develop sustainable infrastructure funding for the construction, operation, and maintenance of public buildings, roads, and utilities
  • Goal 3: Increase Economic Development activities
  • Goal 4: Improve communication between the Community and the City Council/Mayor's Office/City of Pendleton
  •
