Jury Duty

Pendleton Municipal Court holds jury trials for misdemeanor cases.

  • Jurors are selected based on a random list of registered voters provided to us by the Umatilla County Elections Department.
  • You are required to return the juror questionnaire form.
  • If you ignore the summons, you may be held in contempt of court.  If you receive a summons and cannot serve, you must be excused by the Judge.

Payment of Jurors

Any juror who appears will be paid $10.

Employers and Jury Service

  • An employer may not discharge, threaten to discharge or coerce you not to serve.  Action may be taken against any employer who violates laws pertaining to jury service.
  • Your employer’s personnel policies will determine whether or not you are paid by your employer.  There is no statutory requirement that an employer pay wages during jury service.
