Courtroom Conduct

  • Upon entry in to the courtroom, you must remove any large coats, jackets and/or hats.
  • Cell phones, pagers, tablets and any other electronic device(s) are not allowed and are to be shut off while in the courtroom.
  • Audio and video recordings are not permitted.  Any sort of recording equipment is not allowed.
  • Please be polite and courteous to the Judge, court staff, attorneys and those around you.  Refrain from talking in the courtroom while you are waiting for your case to be called.  The Judge needs to be able to hear each party appearing before him.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the courtroom.
  • Backpacks are to be left in the hallway outside the courtroom.  Any belongings left behind will be turned over to the Pendleton Police Department.
  • Appropriate attire is required.  Please do not wear shorts, tank tops, crop tops or revealing attire.  Shoes are required.  Remove all hats prior to entering the courtroom.
  • No children under 13 are allowed in the courtroom, unless required as a witness.  Childcare services are not provided.
  • Only certified service animals are allowed.
  • Weapons are prohibited at City Hall except by authorized law enforcement officers.  Any weapon brought to the premises may be confiscated by Pendleton Police Department, and will not be returned.  A weapon may include, but is not limited to: guns, knives, brass knuckles, sharp or edged weapons, razor blades, ammunition, mace, pepper spray, pipes, sticks, bricks or boards. 
  • Drugs, drug paraphernalia and controlled substances are not allowed in the courtroom and will be confiscated.  Confiscated items will not be returned.

 

  • EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1ST, 2023-Pendleton Municipal Court will become a court of record.  All court proceedings will be audio recorded.
