Open House for Umatilla County Curb Ramps (Pendleton) Phase 2

ADA enhancements coming to U.S. 395 (Southgate) and OR 11 in Pendleton

The Oregon Department of Transportation will be constructing ADA enhancements along U.S. 395 and OR 11 in Pendleton starting in 2024. To share information about the upcoming project, we are holding an in-person open house May 8, 2023, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Pendleton Convention Center, located at 1601 Westgate in Pendleton. ODOT staff and project consultants and engineers will be available to discuss project elements and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation, so anyone interested in attending is welcome to stop by at their convenience.

This is phase two of a multi-phase project to upgrade ADA ramps throughout Pendleton.

We will construct curb ramps to meet compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Work also includes:

  • Replace asphalt walkway with wider concrete sidewalk on east side of U.S. 395, from Southwest Tutuilla Road to Southwest Perkins Avenue.
  • Install flashing beacons on OR 11 at:
  • SE Isaac Avenue.
  • SE 17th Street.
  • Reconfigure lane to add bike lanes on OR 11, from the I-84 interchange to Southeast Court Avenue.

Project schedule

Project design continues through 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.
