Wild West Beerfest Returns

PENDLETON, Ore  – After a two-year hiatus, the youth scholarship fundraiser, Wild West Beerfest, returns to the shady grass of Roy Raley Park on June 18th, 2022, to bring craft beer, live music, food and games to Pendleton. All proceeds of the beer festival go toward local scholarships which allow children from low-income families within the community to participate in programs such as the After School Program and Summer Adventure Camp.

When Pendleton Parks and Recreation initially partnered with IMESD and Pendleton School District to provide an After School Program, Pendleton Parks and Recreation Director Liam Hughes knew they would need a scholarship fund to support local families. With that goal in mind, Wild West Beerfest debuted on June 20th, 2019, and featured an array of craft beers, cocktails from a local distillery, live music, food vendors and competitive games. In its first year, the Wild West Beerfest raised more than $5,000 for youth scholarships.  As the planning committee celebrated a successful year and looked to the future, no one anticipated the global pandemic which ultimately shutdown the good-hearted event for two years.

“Although we’ve been on a two-year hiatus, the Wild West Beerfest is back and better than ever,” Hughes said, adding the beer festival happens to be during Father’s Day weekend, “so get your dad what he really wants for Father’s Day: tickets to the Wild West Beerfest.”
