Pendleton, Ore. — Bureau of Reclamation has increased flows out of McKay Creek Reservoir to 2,500 cfs. It is anticipated that flows will need to be increased again today and continue for several days. Residents should use sandbags to protect their property.
Residents are advised that the best way to protect your home is to lay sandbags outside the base of the home, particularly around openings. Lay them like bricks, flat and alternating the seams.
The Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at the Pendleton Convention Center. The shelter provides food and lodging. Residents can also park RV and other trailers at that location. RV power is available. The shelter can be reached by calling 541-410-7811.
