Pendleton, Ore - Flooding is continuing to be monitored throughout Umatilla County.

An incident management team from the State Fire Marshall’s Office is onsite at the Emergency Operations Center in the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Pendleton, OR.

Bureau of Reclamation and the City of Pendleton have agreed to maintain the current flow of McKay Reservoir at 2600 cubic feet per second (cfs) and will maintain overnight. Incident Command will meet at 8:30 am, Monday morning, to reevaluate.

Roads in Pendleton with access to residents only include:

McKay Creek Road (was opened up yesterday)

Kirk Ext. (Struve Bridge) via SW 44th Route, the bridge is still closed to access.

McKay Creek School is still open at this time. We encourage residents to check the Pendleton School District website for any updates.

Roads affected in the Umatilla County area include a road closure at River Road off of Cayuse. A road across from Wilson Road. Water is across the roadway at the bottom of Nolan Grade and we encourage to avoid this area until the water resides.

A footbridge near Umatilla High School, in the City of Umatilla, has been washed out and is blocked off. Struve Bridge off Kirk Ext. continues to be monitored by the City of Pendleton Public Works crew.

Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation’s Department of Natural Resource Swift Water Rescue Team remains on standby for a water rescue.

A privately-owned bridge near the City of Pendleton water treatment plant, across the creek, has been compromised. The bridge is being monitored. A mitigation plan is in place to ensure the water treatment plant is not affected if the bridge fails. City of Pendleton Wastewater Treatment crews will remain on scene overnight.
