8th Street Bridge Presentation

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), their consultant, Oregon Bridge & Engineering Consultants (OBEC), and the City of Pendleton held a 30% design open house on Thursday, November 19, 2015 to update the affected neighborhood on the design status and considerations for impacts of the project.  Public Works Director introduced the project team, OBEC’s Project Manager presented the project and led the discussion, and ODOT staff discussed the potential for a historic district and the steps required

Public Works Director Honored

The City of Pendleton’s Public Works Director, Bob Patterson, was chosen as this year’s recipient of the William A. Bowes Award.  This is the highest award given by the Oregon chapter of the American Public Works Association to honor distinguished Oregon public works professionals. It was established to recognize a public works leader for their far-reaching, positive impact on public works programs, services or policies.

Paved Residential Streets: Additional Funding Alternatives

City has received approval from the Secretary of State’s office for its November 2015 Ballot Information Brochure and Budget & Streets Funding Presentation in regards to a 5¢ per gallon local motor vehicle fuel tax.

City Council will be holding a public hearing on adopting the Water, Sewer, and Storm System Development Charge Methodology Reports at their meeting on Tuesday, July 21, 2015.  City Council meets at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 501 SW Emigrant Avenue. 

Review of Draft Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Master Plans

Release Date: 

City Council will be holding a public hearing on adopting the Water, Sewer, and Storm Master Plans, along with amending the Comprehensive Plan at their meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.  City Council meets at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 501 SW Emigrant Avenue.  The draft Water System Master Plan and Executive Summary have been updated based on comments received from the Oregon Health Authority – Drinking Water Section.

Goats return to Pendleton

The goats are returning to Pendleton during the second week of April. Three bands will be responsible for keeping land along the river and levee clear of weeds and excess vegetation. The first band will be operating on the river intake side, the second on the levee, and the third will be on the north side of the river.

City gravel trucks running around the clock with storm

Release Date: 

The City of Pendleton understands that winter storms can create challenges for drivers on our local roads. Our Public Works Department has been running three trucks since the snow started to fall on Thursday morning. They are scheduled to run trucks around the clock through Sunday (at this time).

It takes about four hours to complete the full route around the city with all of the trucks putting down gravel. They are also dispatched for gravel trucks to assist with accidents.

Thanks to the City of Pendleton’s Public Works crews for helping keep us safe during these dicey road conditions!
