National Night Out -- Tuesday, August 6, 2013 -- is a nationwide celebrated night. It is part of the “Neighborhood Crime Watch” program sponsored by the Pendleton Police Department which promotes strong, safe neighborhoods and communities. This is one night we ask neighbors to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights, and gather in their neighborhood to send a message to criminals that they are not wanted in their area. It is the largest crime prevention event in the world with 32 million people participating.
The Police Department will be sponsoring a citywide event at Roy Raley Park from 6-8 p.m. where it will be offering free hot dogs, free root beer floats, information booths, police and fire vehicles, tug-of-war, face painting, a dunk tank and entertainment sponsored by the Pendleton Public Library, and more! We hope to see you there!
