Commendation Recognition

Mayor Turner and the City Council recognized the great team effort provided by, members of Pendleton Fire Department, dispatchers from Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, officers from Pendleton Police Department, and from Lifeflight for their cardiac arrest save. 

Pictured is Mr. Carner, who along his wife (who started CPR) thanked all those involved in saving his life.

Mayor Attends Benefit for Minamisoma

Pendleton Mayor Phil Houk recently traveled to Portland to attend a fundraising event in support of Pendleton’s sister city, Minamisoma, Japan. Houk said the event was well attended.

Hiroshi Furusawa, the Consul General of Japan in Portland, expressed his appreciation of the mayor attending the event. Furusawa said, “Mr. Houk’s presence added special meaning to the event and was special for the Minamisoma people”. 

The City of Pendleton is planning to send a delegation of its citizens to Minamisoma this summer.

Unveiling of George Fletcher Bronze

The unveiling of the bronze by sculpture Jerry Warner will be at 2:15pm on Thursday, August 7th in the 300 block of Main Street.  The community is invited to join in the unveiling.
