Pendleton Historic Resources Inventory - Methodology


The Pendleton Historic Resource Inventory is the product of a survey of historic structures, sites and landmarks within Pendleton's 1985 Urban Growth Boundary. It includes a representative selection of resources from a broad range of residential, commercial, industrial and historic uses.

The Pendleton Historic Resources Inventory project was initiated by the City of Pendleton in 1985 in compliance with LCDC Goal 5 which states, "Programs shall be provided that will...protect scenic and historic areas...for future generations...The location, quality and quantity of (historic areas, sites, structures and objects) shall be inventoried". The current Pendleton Comprehensive Plan initially identified 36

The goats are back!

In 2012, the City of Pendleton implemented conservation grazing of the city’s levee system and right-of-way located on north side of the Umatilla River for weed and fire management purposes, and now the goats are back!  The City has approval from non-city owned lands also on the north side to be grazed as part of this effort.

Neighborhood Clean-Up Extravaganza

Pendleton’s First Annual Neighborhood Clean-Up Extravaganza is just around the corner!  From Sunday, May 12, through Saturday, May 18, volunteers will be sweeping through a neighborhood (click here to view location), helping residents clear out clutter, perk up gardens, and knock out those pesky home repair projects. Who are these volunteers, you ask? YOU, of course!!
