Promotions in the Fire Dept.

Mayor Turner administered the oath of office to the two newest Captains in the Pendleton Fire & Ambulance Department.

Captain Dan Hergert has been with the Pendleton Fire Dept. for 25 years.  He started as a Firefighter in 1992 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1994.  He earned a degree in Fire Science and a Paramedic license early in his career, and received a Bachelors degree in Fire Service Administration in 2015.

Captain Steve Brost started as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Gladstone in 1992, later earning his EMT, an Associates degree in Fire Protection, and then received his Paramedic license in 1998.  He has been with the City of Pendleton since 2001, and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2012.  He also serves as the EMS Coordinator for Blue Mountain Community College, and serves on the Oregon Medical Board EMS Committee.

The City is very fortunate to have such seasoned professionals serving in these senior officer roles!
