The Pendleton Fire Department in partnership with the Oregon Department of Forestry, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and mutual aid fire departments will be conducting a four acre wildland training burn on Tuesday, August 2nd from 9:00 am to noon on the South hill: the 1100 block between SW Isaac and SW Hailey.  This is immediately adjacent to the three acre successful training burn that occurred on July 21st.

This area of the city has been identified as a high risk area for wildland fire.  The Pendleton Fire Department in cooperation with the property owner are taking this proactive approach to not only mitigate the fire hazard, but to provide valuable training experience to its personnel.

This training burn is subject to specific weather conditions.  Should the conditions not be ideal, the burn will be postponed.
