Pendleton Fire to conduct a wildland training burn on South Hill

The Pendleton Fire Department in partnership with the Oregon Department of Forestry will be conducting a three acre wildland training burn on Monday, July 18th from 9:00 am to noon on the South Hill: the 1100 block between SW Isaac and SW Hailey.

This area of the city has been identified as a high risk area for wildland fire.  The Pendleton Fire Department in cooperation with the property owner are taking this proactive approach to not only mitigate the fire hazard, but to provide valuable training experience to its personnel. 

This training burn is subject to specific weather conditions.  Should the conditions not be ideal, the burn will be postponed.
